Add Other JDBC Drivers

Live API Creator requires the corresponding JDBC driver to the database management system you use as your admin database and business database. You can add other drivers, such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and DB2.

If you have installed the demonstration package, the database drivers are located in the CALiveAPICreator/lib/ext directory. You can add other drivers to this directory.

For more information about the list of databases that Live API Creator supports, see Supported Platforms.

Install Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Server Drivers

  1. Download the Microsoft JDBC driver for SQL Server file from the Microsoft site.
  2. Extract the file using the following command:
    tar -xf <JDBC file name>
  3. Locate the sqljdbc_4.2/enu/sqljdbc42.jar JAR file (the JDBC driver) and copy it into the CALiveApiCreator/lib/ext directory, relative to the directory with Start.sh in it.
  4. Start the demonstration package.

Install Oracle JDBC Driver

  1. Download the Oracle JDBC driver file from the Oracle site.
Note: Use the version of the Oracle JDBC driver that is compatible with the database version you are using. For more information about the database versions Live API Creator supports, see Supported Platforms.
  2. Copy the ojdbc<version>.jar JAR file into the the CALiveApiCreator/lib/ext directory, relative to the directory with Start.sh in it.
  3. Start the demonstration package.

Install MySQL JDBC Driver

The MySQL JDBC driver works for various versions of MySQL, MariaDB, and Amazon Aurora.

For more information about the database versions Live API Creator supports, see Supported Platforms.

  1. Download the MySQL JDBC driver from the MySQL site.
  2. Extract and select the mysql-connector-java-<version>/mysql-connector-java-<version>-bin.jar JAR file and copy it into the CALiveApiCreator/lib/ext directory, relative to the directory with Start.sh in it.
