Oracle Data Source

Live API Creator supports a subset of the full range of Oracle data types.

Install the Oracle JDBC Driver

Install the license file and the ojdbc<version>.jar JDBC driver file into the following directory:

  • (The self-contained, single-user version of Live API Creator based on Jettycaliveapicreator/lib/ext directory.
  • (Tomcat) The Tomcat  Home/lib directory.

Connect to a Oracle Database

Prerequisites: You know your JDBC connection information.

Connect to your Oracle database by creating your API. Select Oracle as the target database.

For more information about creating API projects, see Create your API Project.

  1. In the connection wizard, select Oracle.
  2. Complete the Schema, Database, host, port, and password fields, including the following fields, and then click Continue:

Type

The Oracle connection type.

Default: SID

Options: SID, Service Name, TNS

SID/Service/Alias

The alphanumeric database identifier.

Schema

This database value accepts double quotesUse double quotes to accept the value of mixed-case (non-standard) schema name.

For example: "MySchema".

Username

This database value accepts double quotesUse double quotes to accept the value of mixed-case (non-standard) username.

You are connected to the database.

Other Supported Oracle Data Types

Live API Creator supports the following data types:

  • ref cursor type, which is a pointer or handle to a ResultSet on the database.
  • xml data type (to store XML data). This type returns as string.
